About the role
The Project Manager Accreditation (Tourism, Hospitality, and Events) is a critical academic support role, providing expertise in course accreditation, renewal, and quality improvement initiatives for undergraduate courses within the Hospitality, Tourism, and Events discipline.
This position focuses on ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining the integrity of course data, and supporting continuous improvement through benchmarking and comprehensive course reviews.
The role requires exceptional project management skills to coordinate deadlines, manage academic quality processes, and prepare documentation for reaccreditation to academic governance committees.
Accountabilities include:
Providing support for the reaccreditation process for all undergraduate Hospitality, Tourism, and Events courses, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, including TEQSA and the National Code.
Assisting in preparing course proposals, including drafting key documentation, collating evidence, maintaining support materials and coordinating with stakeholders.
Supporting the preparation and presentation of reaccreditation materials to academic governance bodies, including the Course and Subject Committee and Academic Board.
Supporting the writing of comprehensive course review reports, ensuring clarity, alignment with regulatory standards, and incorporation of benchmarking findings and academic committee recommendations.
Preparing supporting documents for course reviews, including data analysis, benchmarking comparisons, and stakeholder feedback summaries.
Monitoring timelines, milestones, and deliverables for course review and reaccreditation projects, ensuring tasks are completed within deadlines and aligned with institutional policies and procedures.
Liaison with the Associate Dean (THE), Program Managers, and Quality Assurance teams to align reaccreditation and course review outcomes with strategic priorities.
Communication with external stakeholders, such as members of Course Development and Advisory Sub-Committees, to integrate feedback into course reviews.
Role Requirements
Experience in:
supporting academic quality assurance and reaccreditation processes in a tertiary setting
course accreditation and renewal processes
working in a team-based environment
Skills / attributes:
Strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage complex academic projects to deadlines
Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to draft high-quality course proposals, course reviews and supporting documents
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
A Master's degree or PhD in Tourism, Hospitality, Events or a related discipline.
Also valued:
Experience in course accreditation and renewal processes.
Familiarity with regulatory standards, including the HESF 2015, ESOS Act 2000, and TEQSA requirements.
