As artificial intelligence reshapes Industry and higher education, we are seeking an experienced, forward‑thinking Learning Designer (AI and Assessment) to help lead this transformation and ensure our subjects remain rigorous, relevant, and future‑focused. This is a rare opportunity to lead assessment led subject (re)development, influence institutional practice, and work at the intersection of pedagogy, industry relevance, and emerging technologies.

In this role, you will lead the redesign of subjects from the ground up, using backwards curriculum design to ensure learning outcomes, assessment, activities, and content work together to support meaningful student learning.
What you’ll be doing
As a Learning Designer, you will:
- Lead subject redevelopment from concept to implementation, ensuring high quality, contemporary and assessment led learning design
- Design and transform authentic, industry aligned assessments, embedding clear guidance on AI use and academic integrity
- Champion the ethical and responsible use of AI in assessment design, feedback, and learning activities
- Ensure quality, consistency and compliance across subjects, aligned to ICMS frameworks, AQF requirements, Universal Design for Learning, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with academic leaders and teaching staff to facilitate design workshops, support capability building, and drive continuous improvement through feedback and learning analytics
About you
- You are a learning design professional who is excited by the challenge of improving assessment and learning in a complex, real world higher education environment. You bring:
- A postgraduate qualification in education, learning design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Strong expertise in course and subject (re)development
- Deep understanding of assessment design and backwards curriculum design
- Proven experience integrating AI considerations into assessment and learning design
- Confidence working with learning technologies and LMS platforms (including Moodle)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for educational quality and innovation
