This position is ideal for a highly organised finance professional with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience managing aged debt in a student or customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring all student and third-party payments are received by the due date and aged debt remains within internal targets
Managing and assessing student payment plans and monitoring compliance with agreed terms
Preparing, issuing and reviewing student invoices, pro forma invoices and statements within required deadlines
Preparing and issuing Commonwealth Assistance Notices (CAN) each term
Ensuring tuition and accommodation fees are accurately set up in the Student Management System for each intake
Applying scholarships, FEE-HELP and tuition fee adjustments accurately and on time
Providing reporting and commentary on aged debt to key internal stakeholders
Responding to student fee enquiries professionally via phone, email and internal systems
Liaising with internal teams and external debt collection agencies where required
Supporting peak-period enquiries and undertaking ad hoc finance duties as needed
About You
Demonstrated experience in a collections, accounts receivable or similar finance role
Demonstrated experience managing aged debt and payment plans
High attention to detail with strong data accuracy skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
A professional, ethical and student-focused approach
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience in an education or student services environment will be highly regarded
